Humor me and for a moment think about a world where people do their own thing without any help from anyone, where, words like “do it yourself”, “self reliant”, or “self-made men” are the norms and everyday mantras; where it’s okay to post a picture in Facebook and “Like” it yourself. Continue imagining the same world with businesses made to solely please oneself and the objective – to glorify one’s own prowess and prove one’s self-worth. What fun is it doing that? I dare you to take up a challenge: Get up in the morning tomorrow, make your own coffee, make your own bed, drive to work and don’t seek help nor work with a group. Let me know if you accomplished anything other than please yourself.
